A single donkey ear abalone image featured in glass.
One of the largest species of sea snail, the abalone can be found in most oceans. Considered a delicacy by several cultures and prized for the beautiful iridescent swirls of color on the inside of the shell, this mollusk attempts to camouflage itself by hosting seaweed and smaller sea creatures on it's back. This light catcher would be a unique addition to a shell collection or a nice reminder of a seaside getaway.
This repurposed glass was handtrimmed to 3.0" x 3.0".
LIGHT CATCHERS: Our glass has a unique way of handling light and the most popular way of seeing it is through our Light Catchers. With an almost endless collection of nature inspired designs, these squares and rectangles of repurposed window glass can fit in almost anywhere... a window, a porch, a mirror, even a tree. The glass is handcut to fit the original artwork, balanced on the handmade mold and then kiln fired for at least 9 hours. To finish the piece, it is hand drilled, secured to a silver swirl hook and then gift boxed. Ideal for collectors and those who appreciate the uncommon gift.
