Three stalks of bamboo embossed into an intermediate sized glass plate.
The rapid growth of bamboo is predictable, but the flowering cycle is still an infrequent mystery. One species has been documented to have a 130 year interval between setting blooms. When the plant does produce flowers and seeds it is typically in mass and may be over a several year period. It is said that bamboo has it's own season; it will celebrate and reproduce when it's ready - not before. This hardy plant might just be a great symbol for inspired independence.
The repurposed glass was hand-trimmed to 8.0" x 8.0" prior to firing. From window to artwork takes 12 to 24 hours of handwork and kiln time.
SALAD PLATE: Ideally sized for a distinctive salad or luncheon plate, this handcrafted artwork is perfect for sitting on a tabletop as a subtle and tasteful nod to your style. Pair it with a linen napkin or a stoneware charger or cuttings from your garden and let the light make magic in the embossed design. The plates are carefully packed in a sturdy, earth-friendly gift box before shipping.
