Dove Light Catcher

$ 20.00

This art features a single dove in a contemporary style.

The dove is the more popular smaller cousin of the pidgeon both from the bird family Columbidae.  Found everywhere except the Arctic, Antarctica & Sahara Desert, these birds are quite adaptable. The Two Turtle Doves from the 12 Days of Christmas song are another name for Mourning Doves which do mate for life... making the pair reference especially appropriate   Since the dove is traditionally a symbol of peace and tranquility, this light catcher will be at home near your favorite reading spot, overlooking a restful garden or as a gift to a treasured peacemaker and friend.

The repurposed glass is hand trimmed to 3.0" x 3.0".

LIGHT CATCHERS: Our glass has a unique way of handling light and the most popular way of seeing it is through our Light Catchers.   With an almost endless collection of nature inspired designs, these squares and rectangles of repurposed window glass can fit in almost anywhere... a window, a porch, a mirror, even a tree.  The glass is handcut to fit the original artwork, balanced on the handmade mold and then kiln fired for at least 9 hours.  To finish the piece, it is hand drilled, secured to a silver swirl hook and then gift boxed.  Ideal for collectors and those who appreciate the uncommon gift.
