Seahorse Caspian Light Catcher

$ 20.00

"Caspian" is the name of our third seahorse in the series.

With only tiny fins to propel them, the seahorse is not a model swimmer but rather depends a great deal on currents and tides to bring food into their vicinity.  Their prehensile tail provides a tether by wrapping around coral or sea grasses allowing "herds" of the unique sea creatures to stay & feed together.  After a complex courtship dance, the female deposits her eggs in the male's pouch until they hatch about 14 days later.  The baby seahorses emerge as miniature versions of the adults and ready to join the herd.  Caspian has been designed with a leafy look for blending in with kelp and coral and your beachy cottage.

Our repurposed glass is hand trimmed to 2.5" x 5".

LIGHT CATCHERS: Our glass has a unique way of handling light and the most popular way of seeing it is through our Light Catchers.   With an almost endless collection of nature inspired designs, these squares and rectangles of repurposed window glass can fit in almost anywhere... a window, a porch, a mirror, even a tree.  The glass is handcut to fit the original artwork, balanced on the handmade mold and then kiln fired for at least 9 hours.  To finish the piece, it is hand drilled, secured to a silver swirl hook and then gift boxed.  Ideal for collectors and those who appreciate the uncommon gift.
