This artwork features a single swan in a contemporary style swimming right. A coordinating swan light catcher swimming left is available to create a graceful pair.
Swans have been figured heavily in the arts for centuries including myths, poems, fables & operas. Several faiths use the imagery of a waterproof swan feather to teach the concept of being in the world without getting adversely affected by it. In many cultures, these large beautiful birds were associated with royalty, fidelity, discernment and of course, grace due to the seemingly effortlessly way they glide across water. This light catcher would be a great gift to any lover of the Danish folk tale... The Ugly Duckling... who was truly a beautiful swan after all.
The repurposed glass is hand trimmed to 3.0" x 3.0".
LIGHT CATCHER: Our glass has a unique way of handling light and the most popular way of seeing it is through our Light Catchers. With an almost endless collection of nature inspired designs, these squares and rectangles of repurposed window glass can fit in almost anywhere... a window, a porch, a mirror, even a tree. The glass is handcut to fit the original artwork, balanced on the handmade mold and then kiln fired for at least 9 hours. To finish the piece, it is hand drilled, secured to a silver swirl hook and then gift boxed. Ideal for collectors and those who appreciate the uncommon gift.
